Como fazer uma abóbora iluminada para o Halloween

Também chamada de Jack o’Lantern ou Jack da Lanterna, a abóbora iluminada não pode faltar na decoração de uma festa de Halloween. Saiba como fazer, passo a passo, uma careta de abóbora igualzinha às que a gente vê nos filmes de Hollywood. Crianças podem ajudar, mas sem manusear a faca, combinado?
Para fazer a abóbora de Dia das Bruxas você vai precisar de:
. Abóbora tipo moranga com a superfície mais lisa e uniforme possível
. Caneta
. Faca de legumes bem afiada
. Colher
. Prato
. Papel-toalha ou guardanapos
. Vela pequena e fósforo ou uma lanterninha
Em primeiro lugar, lave e seque a abóbora. Faça um risco circular no tampo, de tamanho suficiente para que sua mão caiba dentro da moranga. Enfie a faca e vá furando e cortando o tampo no local onde você fez o risco.
Se você tiver dificuldade de cortar, vá enfiando a faca em torno do risco para o tampo ir se desprendendo, depois corte. Na hora de cortar, cuidado para não estragar o tampo, pois ele será usado no final. Com a faca e a ajuda das mãos, retire o tampo da abóbora.
Corte a parte com fiapos do tampo e reserve-o para tampar a abóbora depois de pronta. Use a faca para desprender as sementes e a parte com fiapos de dentro da abóbora. Vá retirando essa polpa mole e colocando no prato. Seu objetivo é deixar a moranga o mais limpa possível por dentro, só com a polpa durinha.

Para deixar a abóbora limpinha, raspe a polpa mole com a colher e, quando necessário, utilize as mãos. Em seguida, passe o papel-toalha ou o guardanapo por dentro da moranga para deixar o interior ainda mais limpo e seco.
Agora você vai riscar o desenho da carinha. Se você não é um exímio desenhista, não se preocupe, aposte em figuras geométricas. Faça triângulos ou círculos para representar os olhos e o nariz e uma figura oval ou um zigue-zague triangular para representar a boca. O desenho também não precisa ficar certinho, é só para lhe dar uma base na hora de esculpir a cara da abóbora.
Se preferir, faça um molde numa cartolina e depois risque na moranga. Agora, se você tem habilidade para desenhar, pode incrementar a careta, colocando sobrancelhas, um olhar com expressão malvada ou o que sua criatividade mandar.
Depois do desenho pronto, enfie a faca e vá furando e cortando a parede da moranga nos locais riscados, começando pelo olho. Quando ele se soltar, retire o pedaço de abóbora correspondente. Continue cavoucando com a faca para tirar a polpa em volta do local cortado, deixando o olho vazado. Depois passe o guardanapo por dentro para deixar o buraco limpinho e seco.

Faça o mesmo com o outro olho, o nariz e a boca. Quando necessário, ajude a tirar o pedaço empurrando-o pela parte de dentro da abóbora com a mão. Depois de deixar toda a cara vazada, revise os locais onde você ainda precisa tirar fiapos e polpa para deixar as cavidades lisinhas e limpinhas.
Pronto, agora é só acender a vela ou pegar a lanterninha, inserir dentro da abóbora e tampar. Apague as luzes e tcharam: feliz Dia das Bruxas!
